Wow did I have trouble with this one. I am not Black or urban so there were a lot of elements in this book that were "over my head" and I could not relate to. I must admit I had a hard time getting through this book because it didn't hold my interest right from the first page. It had too many characters to keep up with and seemed a bit disjointed at times. The book jumped around a lot and there were many times I felt I was walking into the middle of a conversation and had no idea what they were talking about.
This is by far not one of the best books I have ever read but, having said that, there is a particular market this book will probably appeal to. I was not familiar with the author and am not really sure if I will try another one of her books.
